Should we book hotel Senggigi Lombok?

Haven't ever been to Senggigi before so not sure if it is best to book a hotel in advance or just turn up and shop around?

we will be looking for budget to mid range accommodation for a week at the start of August so not sure if it jam packed at that time of year and if it is better to be able to look first anyway?

Would love to hear experienced views or even recommendations for hotels (2 adults in 30's + 2 kids under 8yrs old).
