Unless all you want to do is lay on the beach and swim for a few days, my recommendation is to stay on Lombok.
Stay on Lombok and do a day trip to the Gilis for snorkelling/diving and some beach time.
You could stay Senggigi/Mangsit where you can base yourself for a day trip to gilis, another to waterfalls, and another to Kuta.
What type of accommodation / budget are you after?
