Seems as always everyone is being told something different - I was advised yesterday and again today that luggage needs to be collected in Jakarta as you cannot clear Immigration and Customs without luggage. So what I was told does make sense. Then there is a desk set up in the International terminal where you check luggage in - you dont have to take it to the domestic terminal.
After August we should hear more about how this is working for Garuda as they simply don't know right now (so they said) - so for example they are saying we cannot connect to a domestic flight within 2 hours of arriving from Australia - that may change however depending on the time it takes to clear Immigration and Customs.
