My friends went for a massage and I decided to go for a walk to the Bintang Supermarket. I left Jayakarta Hotel, got to Bintang Supermarket and decided hmmmm jln Oberoi (Eat St) mustn't be too far and decided to keep walking. I got to jln Dhyana Pura and thought maybe its down this way and walked all the way to the beach. Walked along the beach dodging the sellers, I didnt want to buy anything so I gave them a few thousand ruphia and they were now my best friends. Got directions, sounded great, not too far I thought. I walked for absolute ages along this lane with dogs barking and had to stand against fences when cars came past as it was so narrow. But eventially came out at Eat St. Walked all the way up to the other end, checked out Joy Jewellery and Perlu and then walked around the corner and started walking back hopefully heading back to Legian and thought I will just get a cab back but found a few shops including Havelli and thought hmm I will just walk a bit further in case I miss something. By the time I decided right now I will get a cab it was sprinkling with rain and I looked up ahead and saw the Bintang Supermarket and thought oh well whats the point of getting a cab now, lol. I stopped at Tommys in Rum Jungle Road for a very late lunch and back to Jayakarta. All up I was gone for 4 and half hours. So yes you can walk to Eat St but I would recommend getting a taxi and then walking back. There were some great little shops.
