I was going to suggest The Haven, but read further down that the buildings facing each other do not appeal to you. (I haven't seen them first hand).
Another thought is the Melati Apartments just up from the KP above coffee shop. They have a 3bdrm up top, or a few 2bdrm where 2 could share a rm each & 1 could be in the living area perhaps. I think it fits your budget.
Another thought is the Jayakarta next door to KP, but having stayed previously in the private apartments, I wouldn't recommend unless desperate, though bargain-priced.
