Best Place for older teenagers

Hi
Can any one suggest a good place for a few 19 year old guys to stay. My son and friends are heading to Bali in July - they are all apprentices with limited funds. So looking for some where thats not too skanky. The Bounty looks very expensive,and last time we were in Bali the Troppo zone looked deserted. They are the only two I can think of. My son has been to Bali three times before but all of the others are bali virgins. Although it will be his first visit as an adult. Thanks in advance for any help
