I think that their main benefit is preventing children (and adults) from sticking their fingers in their mouths and up their noses. Rubbing their eyes is another good way of contracting the virus. Door handles and sink taps are other good areas for picking up the virus. Try to avoid shaking hands. Use tissues to cough and sneeze into. Wash hands frequently and use hand sterilizing gel. A small spray bottle of water will keep eyes and nose moist in the plane.
Personally, I shall be OK. I will be wearing the the niqab, complete with wrap -around sunglasses & black gloves.
The swine virus has not yet mutated into a lethal form in Australia. IF you are going to get it, now would be a good time. When the virus becomes more dangerous, you will be immune.
