we hired a car (Avanza) and the the Bali Navigator...it is wonderful, extremely easy to use, finds everything for us, just do what the lady says!. We spent 6 nights at Greenfield in Ubud. Ubud is fantastic for foodies...so many great restaurants there. Fantastic shops, especially jewellery, as well. We then spent a night at Lakeview at Mt Batur....wonderful location and views! Now in Lovina, and is is beautiful and quiet...some great restaurants as well....we are endeavouring to try as many as possible. The scenery on the trips is beautiful. We are also going to Amed & Candi Dasa, and are taking our time. But in 8 days you could see a lot of Bali. Dont be daunted by the traffic...we just go slowly, and the number one rule is just dont run into anything...and biggest gets right of way! It is fun exploring yourself.
