Hey Simon, we ate a couple of meals at Pantai restaurant. Right on the beach beside Ma Jolys (a rip off). Pantai was great - the grilled half chicken was very good, as was the sate. Also cheap beer prices. Apparently the Irish restaurant inside the discovery hotel is also pretty good for "normal" food. I'm not sure of prices there though.
