So glad you liked the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel. I went with my 3 children to Nusa Dua Beach Resort in 1984, when it was just opened. This started my love affair with Bali. In 1984 we walked down a dusty track to the little village of Bualu where kids looked wide-eyed at us. There were no shops, nothing. We walked up the beach all the way north to Benoa. There was nothing at all along the beach except scattered houses with coconut palms. We found one cafe at Bualu, where we had something to eat and they drove us back to the hotel, as we hadn't realised how far we had walked. We became very friendly with several of the staff and corresponded with them over the years. We returned to Nusa Dua in 1986,1987,1988 and have been to Bali many times since. However, we did not stay at NDBH again until 2005 when my youngest daughter decided that this was where she wanted to get married. She was only 10 when she last went there, but it had made such a lasting impression on her. The wedding at the Nusa Dua was absolutely beautiful and because it was only a small wedding party on a budget we had the "reception" at the Bali Bistro Cafe, just outside and down the road. They decorated the restaurant and it was a fabulous unforgettable night. We will always have fond memories of NDBH and whilst we prefer to wander around Bali and stay in small places, we will always stay at NDBH for a night or two because it just feels like home to us.
