This is my first post on here but I have been reading the forum for a couple of years.
Just got back from my 4th trip to Bali. I was over there for my 21st with my partner (6th trip), parents (1st trip), and partners parents (8th trip).
Thurs 27th: Straight to airport (Perth) from work, flew Garuda on 6.40pm flight, arrived at Bali at about 10.00pm, in a taxi by 10.30pm. Stayed at Kuta Seaview Hotel (2nd stay there). Was upgraded from a standard room to a premium suite, so was very happy. Had a few late night drinks around the pool then off to bed.
Fri 28th: Showed my parents around Kuta, was funny to see their reaction when we left the hotel ("Taxi" "massage" etc being yelled at them). First stop was Starbucks for iced coffees, then to Matahari, then walked up to Dianne's shop in Tuban, we then had a look through Centro (changed yet again since I was last there). From Centro we walked back to the hotel along the beach.
That night we went to Poco Loco for dinner, it was good as usual, but unusually quiet.
Sat 29th: Did some shopping up Poppies 2 and dropped off our DVD list in the morning. Walked up to Legian Beach Hotel to where my partner's parents were staying and had a few drinks in their pool. We then went shopping in Legian and walked up to Double D to watch Eagles vs Hawthorn playing. We then walked back to the hotel, picking up the DVDs and doing some more shopping along the way.
Dinner that night was my birthday dinner at Macaroni. My autie and uncle and a couple of their friends ended up surprising me there (I wasn't aware they were in Bali). Had a great night there, staff were great. Partied the night away.
Sun 30th: Woke up hung over. Hired a driver called Barney, who is also a family friend. He arrived at 10am. We first headed to Starbucks on Legian St. Then we headed to the surf outlets on Bypass Rd. We then went for a swim at Nusa Dua and had lunch at Jimbaren (very quiet), cant remember the restaurant but very nice seafood. From Jimbarin we headed up to Tanah Lot (very busy, lots of Japanese and Javanese tourists).
Back to hotel and more shopping in Legian. Then off to Indo National for dinner, great food and service as usual.
Mon 27th: Did some last minute shopping at Centro in the morning, said bye to parents (they were off to Ubud for a few nights), then to the airport. Flew back to Perth on the 2:05pm flight.
Arrived at 5.30pm and out of the airport within 30mins of landing. Back to work the next day.
