Mate, first thing I would do after you read this is to Google up Novotel as they were advertising a special rate @ US$42 a night and I think the offer is still open but it needs to be booked through the head office in France and not direct to Tanjung Benoa. and ask him for his best rate. Now that we are retired, and to afford getting there 4 times a year we get the basic standard room over the road. There are now De luxe rooms, a much improved standard room over the road. On the beach side there are the new Tropical Terrace rooms with a bath and a lovely garden. There are also the Villas that have everything that opens and closes including a large fridge, ice machine, coffee machine, pool,outside living area, outside shower and bath. We favoured the Tropical Terrace rooms but when all is said and done all one really needs is a bed so we are happy with the basic standard room. We will be back on 4th July for 3 weeks. Apart from the special offer, what we normally do is to email the hotel with the dates. Bit of a laugh about the helmet eh ?
