My husband and I stayed at the Mercure about 2 years ago, it was a lovely place to stay being across the road from the beach but without sounding rude or awful we were about the only aussies staying there. I can't compare the two hotels as I haven't stayed at BGH as yet we will be Oct/Nov. Anyway, I hope you come up with a decision and enjoy your holiday Bali's a great place to holiday.
