Snorkelling is not bad off the beach by Playgrounds Surf Break, and there are some great locations if you get a boat to take you over to Nusa Penida. Surf is normally excellent, and a lot of travellers go their specifically for the fantastic waves - me included!!!!!!!!!

We have stayed at Hai Tide Huts a few times and they are very very nice. The bathrooms are very nice. There are about 5 private bathrooms for 2 people only, in a block 20 meters or so from the huts. In other words you dont really share them with other people like a carvan park! They are quite large bathrooms with shower, toilet and vanity and lots of space. We found this no problems and were fine to share with the other half in the morning.

The beach by hi tide huts is quite nice, maybe a little busy when their boat comes in every day from Bali. To explain, the hi tide huts are owned by the people who run trips to lembonagan every day (Bali Hai). They have a huge pontoon moored of the beach and every day around 11.00 the huge ship arrives and disgourges the day trippers at the pontoon. These people are then ferried on little boats to the Hai Tide Hut complex where they swim in the pool and have lunch etc. They are all gathered up and whisked away around 3.00pm The Day trippers are not allowed to use the hut bathrooms, but best time is before they get there and when they leave!!!! Trying to bargain is probably useless, as they are owned by Australians from Perth. If you decide to stay there, stay in the beachfront huts, well worth the extra dollars.

There are plenty of other options which offer more secluded and quiet times. Last year we stayed at a place called Mutiara Villa - $68.00 US a night including ALL meals [for 2 people]. www.mutiara-villa.com It is beautiful... food is great, pool is great, views are great, staff are great, I just cant recommend this place enough! But, they are very hard to get hold of when trying to book! We are off there in just over a week from today, and really looking forward to it!!!

In all Lembongan is great, and worth staying a few nights. Very quiet, no traffic whatsoever, very chilled out place to hang for a few days to escape the craziness of bali!!!
And the surf is sick!!!!
