The confusion may have arisen because several domestic Departure Tax increases were announced a few months ago.
As well the DPRD in Bali (the local Parliament) asked last year that the National Government collect a compulsory donation from departing tourists as well as the Departure Tax. As yet the National Government has not agreed to this request.
The compulsory donations would go into the coffers of the Balinese Provincial Government.
