Lembongan has easier access from Bali and is a good place to chill out but not much to do other than snorkel or surf (which can be the reason to choose it). Trawangan has more restaurants & nightlife but also has a nice slow pace. If you're only going for a few days, the jetboats to Gili T provide direct access and are actually quicker point to point than flying. If you have longer, then it's worthwhile also seeing some of Lombok.
