Gili T is a good choice - for one thing there is really no shopping so you would save money and the trick is to go in the low season - it is now so popular they charge what they like in the high season.
Have a look at the Merpati site where you can now book an air ticket for less than $AUD100 return.
The biggest bug is that it is not so easy if you want to get from airport to Gili T really cheap. Beach House and Dream Divers will pick up and the drive is a good one and get you over in a speed boat, taking off south of the dreaded Bangsal. Both are around $AUD30 per person though the Beach House price decreases if there are other people. Another place starting to get good reviews is Rumah Saga but I am not sure if they do transport but they could certainly advise.
