We are staying in Ubud for the second part of our holiday and I have been wanting to do some day trips to "somewhere different" that we haven't been to before. We have done all the standard Bali day trips - ubud, celuk, mas and surrounds, git git waterfall, lovina , banjar hot spring pools, lake bedugal, kintamani, kandi cuning spice and flower markets etc etc.
This is our 4th trip and we want to hire a driver and explore somewhere a little different, further afield, but I'm not quite sure where to go.
Any ideas?
Amed sounds interesting, but as we have already booked all our accommodation I don;t really want to stay overnight anywhere so was wondering if Amed could be done easily from Ubud as a day trip and if so, what would a good itinerary be for the day?
Would it be a quicker day trip to Amed leaving from Ubud or leaving from Legian? (we are staying in legian for the first 10 days and Ubud for the last 5)
Or does anyone have any other suggested day trips that we could set out on other than amed? candi dasa is another place we haven;t seen yet. We don;t want to go to Nusa Lembongan as we don;t want any boat travel (with a 4 year old)
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)
