Warungs are usually different from a restaurant as they are generally smaller, less up market fittings and fixtures. Basic menu choices, cheap, but usually cooked freshly as ordered.
Warungs also range from 5 star (as warungs go) down to 0 star.
Maybe you and I shouldnt eat at the lower, more local or basic establishments.
There would be warungs up the BGH end of town, but more up the laneways, closer to the 'villages' out the back, eg behind Waterbom park etc.
The more you travel to Bali to more you get to get your sense of direction, or it was for me, of course depending on how interested you are.
Buy a Periplus Bali street atlas to give yourself a kick start along if you are keen. The Periplus book shops are in lots of the main centres and the directory costs aout au$20.
