I always remember a time we were followed to our car buy a guy selling a carved flute that my daughter really wanted, after much laughter and opening and closing of doors we finally agreed on a price.
When I turned around to see our driver with an extra big smile on his face I asked him if we had just paid way to much? he asked if I was happy with the price and when I said yes he replied "well that's what it was worth", a very nice attitude towards bargaining and one I have followed ever since.

So before you bargain, try to get a bit of an idea of prices as others have mentioned, but mostly figure out a price that would make you happy and go for it, sometimes it even feels good to pay a little bit more.

Also if you really love something don't assume you will see it again later you might miss out.

Cheers Deb.
