I made the trip from Ubud to Padang Bai in February this year. My suggestions are:
Gianyar - weaving workshops
Klungkung - Kertha Gosa
before Padang Bai - Goa Lawah
Padang Bai - I preferred the beach at Bias Tugal than Blue Lagoon
It is easier to reach these places from Ubud rather than from Sanur.
