I have spent Christmas in Bali. It is a public holiday in Indonesia.
Many Javanese holiday in Bali at that time causing traffic jams and hotels to be booked out.
Tourists are often forced to pay for compulsory Christmas dinners at hotels.
Almost all Balinese are hindu and do not celebrate Christmas.
