We've stayed there a couple of times. 1st time I rang them to make the booking, 2nd time did it via email. No payment prior to arriving. I think we might have paid a deposit when we arrived then the balance on check out.
Don't know about the junior suite, we've stayed in the std as well as the deluxe. They were starting to do some renos when we were there May last year.
John, I assume he is still the manager, is a lovely person. He's always ready for a chat, especially over breakfast. The rest of the staff are nice too.
