Last year I got a Perth phone number from this forum for Garuda who I rang about 3-4 days before we left and requested to be in front 8 rows - we were in row 5 on the way over and back - much to our friends disgust who were at back of plane who hadn't rang. but maybe we were lucky but I would definitely try again.
