1st rule of timeshare purchases is buy resale.
2nd rule is buy where you want to go regularly - avoid airfares if possible.
3rd rule is to do at least 6 months research before you buy.
Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Maintenance fees go on forever and it is a lot easier to buy than sell a timeshare. Check out the forums - TUG (timeshare users group) and TS4MS (timeshare forums)mainly populated by USA people but there are a few Aussies. You will see how much there is to learn.
