in the King Villa in Jan 2007. This was the first time we ever stayed in villa accommodation overseas. It was a family xmas treat instead of buying presents we didn't need. We hadn't been to Lovina for over 20 years so there had been a few changes since the last time. The one thing I remember about Lovina was that it felt like the Bali we had first visited as 20 somethings in 1987. Quiet, peaceful the locals wanted to talk and find out about where you were from. Yes the beach sellers were a bit much but that was only the first day. After that everyone left you to yourself. We loved our stay at Rambutan ,the staff were fantastic with our two kids . They played table tennis & chess with them. The breakfasts were great as was the lovely grounds & swimming pool. Richard & Tini were great hosts. As well as the restaurant in the complex there are great places to eat over the road & also a short walk down towards the beach. I got some great shopping bargains that even today seem too cheap to be true.
