just returned from lovina...it's quieter than kuta and the drive through the mountains to get there is nice but beaches are dirty
haven't been to gili islands so can't comment
candidasa is ok but i don't rate it
amed is my number 1 pick for bali....scenic, quiet but still plenty of cheap places to stay/eat and great snorkelling
