Good suggestion from Tina and Wen. Make sure to take comfortable walking shoes and bandaids. I actually buy the cheap black sandals that are on sale everywhere for about $2 - $3, I find them very comfortable, you can put them on & walk straight away, no blisters. They only generally last for one trip.
Take shorts with pockets and tops, you will find a laundry close to you they are everywhere and get your laundry done, it's really cheap. I cull my wardrobe every year and take over shorts and tops that I haven't worn and after wearing them, give them away. Long loose skirts are always good too and the sarong is very handy.
After you arrive, change some money & go into Matahari's in the supermarket section and you can buy everything you will need. Good suggestion to take sunscreen from OZ, expensive there and you can also buy yakult very cheap, that might help with the change of food.
