They are a packaged satay mix, about 200 grams, which when mixed with a little water is used to marinate and coat meat, often chicken, before cooking to produce delicious satays. The block is a dense concoction of fresh ground peanut, chilli, spices etc. that has been briefly cooked before packaging.
