And seriously, just what light can Channel 7 throw on a decision which was clearly a commercial one based on people like you, particularly those living in N.T., looking for "cheapie flights" (your words) without contemplating the long-term consequences. No airline can remain flying, particularly in this present economic climate, if the numbers don't add-up. No doubt Channel 7 is trying to rake-up anything they can find to sensationalise Garuda's Darwin pull-out in their usual and inimitable manner.
As I said in an earlier post, it will be interesting to see the difference in Jetstar's Darwin/Denpasar fares as a consequence of then now having a clear monopoly on this route - also how long the present frequency levels remain.
