I buy cable ties and put them through my luggage closures. I then paint them with a nice blob of bright pink nail polish. That way I can see if anyone has replaced them or tried to tamper with them; the nail polish cracks. I also give my bags a quick once over look when I get them off the carosel in case someone has slit them and then super glued the slit back up. I would hope the average joe is pretty safe in regards to this but Im a bit of a suspicious person and dont like to leave anything to chance.
