On our departure from Bali in March we were stopped at the first xray check as we had two bottles of alcohol in a padded wine bag in our suitcase. One bottle was opened and wrapped in a plastic bag, the other was in a box and unopened. The guard wanted to take the opened bottle as "it might leak into our suitcase and make a mess of our clothing". We refused and asked for some tape to wrap around the lid. He then directed us to the plastic wrapping machine (for wrapping suitcases) and we had the bottles wrapped in plastic at a small charge. We put the bottles back into out suitcase and allowed to go on our merry way.
