We have used locks on our suitcases for the last 4 - 5 times and we have had no trouble at all. When you put locks on and you have the keys, it makes it look more safer in the sense that no-one else has tampered with it. To us as a large family, we consider it more safer for us. We usually just use cheap locks from Woolworths or K-Mart that fit through the suitcase eyelets.
