Yes you get medical cover with your insurance IF the bike you're riding is 200cc or under.
If you have a valid international drivers permit endorsed with the bike licence on it. (Which you get at the racv - victoria)
There's other conditions such as alcohol and the like. But if he has a licence in Oz and has an IDP then he should be fine.
