they complained to Lonely Planet that there was no warning in the Bali and Lombok guide book about the lizards in Bali and on their first night they spent the whole night standing on their bed with a stick trying to flick the little lizards of the walls - they were staying in an open air room in Ubud. Good thing a monkey did visit them.
