Hello, do a quick check of the archives for lots of information on the Nusa Dua area. If you are staying for a while give the Nusa Dua galleria complex a miss - to expensive and caters for the 'rich' russians and japanese . The best, cheapest and biggest supermarket is Hardys which is located on the Nusa Dua turn-off to Kuta. About 10,000 rupiah by taxi (maximum). Stock everything from alcohol, fresh produce, hardware and fashion. Also have a selection of live fish and frogs if you are game. All the locals shop there.Very good prices compared to Kuta.
Best eats in the area are the Laguna and Mai Mai. Both located in Nusa Dua and have feee pick up and return services. Prices are good and the food and service are excellent. Also try any of the many places alond Jalang Pratama which goes through to Tanjung Benoa. Many good eateries and local warungs. Never been poisoned yet!! Plus many small DVD stores are located there. Normally able to get any title and all at 10,000 rupiah plus usual 3 extra for every 10 you buy.

Check Filo's guide to bali(google it) and enjoy. Try not to eat in the 5-star resorts - prices are sky high. Explore the area. it is quieter than Kuta, has more of an european feel to it and is very pleasant.

Also am interested in where you are staying - am considering a villa on my next trip. Details, prices etc would be appreciated. Thanks.
