This small hotel which is centrally located behind Matahari department in Kuta Square is a smallish hotel that might suit you. I stayed there in the 1980's and it was very budget, but now it gets huge raps from lots of people here on the forum.
I did a walk through the property last year for old times sake and it looks fantastic. It is also reasonably priced. search this forum and you will read lots of positive feedback.
