Been 6 times and still finding new interesting stuff to do. There a heaps of restaurants. read some JBRs to get names and locations.
SOme of the best thngs we did were in the last trip.
1, Bali Eco Bike ride it was just fantastic. All down hill and you get to ride through some beautiful villages and the guide will explain all about their lifestyle and religion. Includes a breakfast at Mt Batur and a really good lunch at the end.
2. Plenty of spas for massage etc and so cheap. Try lots of different treatments etc. Check out and compare prices when you arrive or search forum for recommendations.
3. Shopping.. do not need to say much about that. You will find out when you get there. I would recomend not buying anything much for the first few days but just check out prices. It may be worth looking for the few fixed price shops for market type clothes- t-shirts etc. Again search archives for info on these.
4. Bali Safari Park or Bali Zoo are both great days out.
5. there are heaps of tours available. Check them out at the street tour booths as they are much cheaper than on the internet or through hotels or travel agents.
6. On my frst trip went on a yacht to Lembongan for snorkeling etc... was a great day. Not sure if these still operate but you may find something similar.
7. Tahn Lot at sunset
8. There is heaps to do if you want or you can just realax around the pool and eat out a lot.
