We have travelled at this time of the year for the past 5 years. Husband, two boys aged 10 and 11 and myself.

But we have never come across so many ceremonies. Nyepi days we are old hands at, but there were three other ceremonies while we were there.

We are not shoppers so all the ceremonies don't matter, but some of our favorite haunts for a good feed were closed a lot.

We travelled 7 - 28 March. All in all it was very relaxing. We have done most of the tourist stuff, so the kids were just happy to be in the pool the whole time. We had a couple of days at Waterbom and did the Safari Park again.

We caught up with a couple of others from the Forum at Waterbom and the kids all had a great time together. Hello to Lisa, Frank, Ross and all the boys.

A few occasions at Sammy's and Suzie's which is always a great experience. Sammy is the funniest bloke and year after year, he always puts a smile on your dial.

We ate at so many different places, I couldn't tell you them. But a few that we went back to were:

Kuta Steakhouse - great steak, great veggies and cheap binnies (happy hour 12 - 7 pm 10,000 rp)
Kuta Townhouse - huge meals, we usually shared 2 between 4 of us
Gong Corner - great food, cheap binnies
And there sister restaurant
Bamboo Corner - just as good
TJ's - Mexican food, always good

We stayed at the Ida, and I wouldn't usually tell you that, but I've now seen it advertised in travel brochures, so I think the secret is out about this great little hotel. We use to stay at a much larger family friendly hotel, but after staying at the Ida last year, the boys requested this was where we stayed again.

Met some great people at the Ida and love the staff here. It is a really great hotel.

Overall, we spent three weeks in Bali and did nothing. It's a real holiday, because you don't have to do anything.

Now just have to plan for next year.

Cheers guys.

PS - Hope I've surprised your Ricky and Hooked
