Apts. BGH was a really great hotel. Only downside would be the rooms desperately need an upgrade but the rest of the hotel facilities were AAA+++. Lovely pools. Great cheap restaurant, Boardwalk, with lots of variety. Restaurant out front was good there too (can't remember name-owned by same group as Cinta in Ubud) and Japanese upstairs also good. Was alot easier to get a drink at the pool bar here.
Stayed Jayakarta in 2 x 1brm apts. Didn't eat at hotel, except in our apt for B/F. Heaps of cheap, good restaurants nearby either on the beach side or up Rum Jungle that are really not that much hassle to walk to - we did it with 2 & 5 yr olds and didn't mind the walk. We also have a 15yr old and he liked both places I think.
If I could take the Priv Apts and put in the BGH grounds I would be really happy. Does that help, probably not! but I would stay at either again.
