I think you can hire the Jimny's and similar (little Jeeps) for 100,000rp or so a day.
Its very reasonable and petrol is only 4500rp per litre and of course, you cant do many kms, as there is not too far that you can go!
I used our hotel to arrange hire.
Nessie may reply and give you the number of the fellow she hires from. He only has autos.
