Hi. My husband and I travelled with Virgin. We had 2 suitcases, 2 big lamps, 1 painting and 1 guitar to go under the plane. It looked a lot, and totalled 45kg. They said we would have to pay excess. I took out of my suitcase a beautiful hand carved jewellery box and offered it to the airline staff person and said they could have it as a gift, it weighed about 1.5kg. She told me to keep it, put it in my hand luggage. Extremely nice lady, will travel with them again.
