I have stayed there a few times now and will again for 2 nights in May. We have always headed to the trilogy of accommodations on the beach which seems to be expanding as it is now 4 and maybe 5. The "original" 3 in this spot are Taman Sari, Pondok Sari & Taman Selini (from north to south along the beach). They are all similar accommodation and range vastly in price depending what you want. Pondok Sari has always been the cheapest and Taman Selini the most expensive for a room for 2. Each has its own restaurant - one Thai influenced,one Indo and the other Greek.
The beach is black sand and there is a coral reef just off the shore which is being regenerated and is worth a snorkel around. Equipment is for hire at the dive shop. Diving and snorkelling trips can also be arranged through the dive shops.
