trip of 3 weeks. I personally witnessed 3 bites. The first was a young boy and family walking down Benesari Lane. You could hear a dog barking down a side gang. As this group walked past the gang a dog ran out, chased and bit the boy. The father kicked the daylights out of it. Secondly a young boy was throwing what looked like an icecream into a bin just off the pathway beachside of Jayakarta. One of two dogs nearby ran over and lunged at the boy's hand I assumed to grab the food and in the process bit him. Not necessarily attacking the boy but that is just my point, you can be bitten unexpectedly. In both these instances the dog's drew blood. Thirdly early one morning an indonesian woman walking off the beach near Grand Istama Rama walked between about 3 dogs on the beach which started barking at her. As she continued up the beach two of the dogs chased her and one lunged at her leg. Judging by her screams and her actions this dog undoubtedly bit her. The fact that in your twelve years you have only met one victim does not mean it doesn't happen. Surely you are not foolish enough to think that. I have lived in Australia all my life and have never seen a dog bite someone but I am not stupid enough to think that it does not happen. If you think the number of dog bites in Bali is a direct relationship to what you have personally experienced you and harmony really do need to pull your heads out of the sand.
