in Bali for 8 weeks, so here goes
Stayed in a 2 bedroom unit at the jayakarta the only bad thing is the distance to the pools I have timed it from the 5 floor 4 mins, longer if you have kids ,. It's a long way no matter which way you go.
Bali was the busiest I have seen in the last 5 years was there in 07. Prices have gone up by 30%; small beer on beach was 15.000 @ franks bar. beach lady's still up to the usual one lady s bill was 22.millon Rp yes 22 million she did not go back to beach and a other lady was charged $200.00 aus for a fake tattoo she was very upset, by the way the 22millon Rp lady returned all of things that she had taken (her hubby did that )
1 st day Hubby and I go for hair cuts we go to the one near Bintang supermarket
We went food shopping did lots of cooking while there, I love to cook
After shopping we went to the beach to say hi to all of our friends. We had 35 kg of things to give away (Was over in syd, throw away 9kg)
My favorite is Robert he sell sunglasses and ardi for tattoos, we have been friends for many years now. Something happened to me in my 7th week and now i know I can call them my friends.
We could not believe how many people there were in and by the pool it was nice to see
So many kids having fun I love kids playing games and having fun., But my better half was saying why are these kids here they should been in school I told he to shut the hell up we hade little kids once so put a sock in it love .
I met so many wonderful people from all around the world Holland, Italy, France, Spain, Germany and many Australians
I have been to Bali 13 times and never been to abud, volcano, zoo Monkey Park ect ect I am not the site seeing type I like to meet people, walk ,food, drink, swim, I would send hours talking to people from all around the world, but most of my time was spent on the beach just chatting to the locals , # 10 # 3, Harry the hat man Johnny walker Andy , tiger itchy bum ,sue, cathy , jimmy ( sliver) Robert ( sunglasses) ardi (tattoos) if u are worried about having a fake tattoo done, ask for a spot of henna on your arm and leave for 12 hours and see if you have any allergies (great for kids) Ardi is more then happy to do it .
Ketut is great for shopping, just get what you want and take it to the counter she will not rip you off, ketut and her staff are great, we also had shorts and dresses made. I took the 22 million Rp lady shopping at ketut she loved it.
Optometrist: We went to Wina at supernova 5 pairs of reading glasses about $170.00 au
You need to call be for you go, optometrist is only in for a few hours a day
Swimwear: hand made $23.00 au very happy with the results
Dentist: consultation, antibiotics, other medication, 2 teeth pulled and fillings $90.00aus
Doctor: consultation + 10 tablets 550.000rp a bit much I thought. not sure if travel insurance will cover it.
The chemist near bintang supermarket charge only 50.000 rp for consultation with one of the doctors there
Dinner: on average 15.00 per person aus. My favorite is the fillet steak at yutz
Money changer: I was so anger and disappointed we have been going to the same money changer for so many years now
I have recommend him so many times to other people I felt so embarrassed, he did rip off 3 couples from Holland while we where there, I left my very small and wroth less calculator there one day, I went back within seconds and he said maybe someone else picked it up, ok I said, maybe so, but I knew that no one else was there, I let that one go.
This trip we changed over $6.000.00 with this guy, one day I went in to buy 1pkt of smokes I paid and walked out, on my way back to my room I realized that my wallet was missing, no more than 1min had gone by, I knew that I hade left it on the counter at the money changer he said maybe someone else picked it up when I left the shop.
I did report him. I was and am 100% sure he took it, just like my calculator.
I know I should have been more careful
Lucky we had only 1 week left and we still had some cash. Robert did offer to help he said he had 200.000rp that we could have, and ardi said that he would share he's meals with us.
This trip was meant to look for a house, villa, unit, land or business
We have decided on a business
