10kg hand luggage ?

I know 10kg weight has been mentioned on the BTF lately... but as I'm reasonably well travelled with a number of International Airlines ... their hand luggage has been NO more than 7kg.

Let me tell you (and I'm talking from experience) anything that falls out from the overhead compartment bloody hurts. My mother-in- laws light weight walking stick clonked me on the head when I opened the compartment on arrival after a long flight. I'd hate for it to have been been a 10gk stick as it would have seen the end of me.
