Monday night became pizza night.

Headed back to Gerebig Bungalows after consuming a couple of large Bintangs at Murni Warung (the Carlsberg thing hadn't clicked with me by that time). Hungry, as one can be after a good drink and good bar conversations, I grabbed my last years Pizza Bagus delivery menu and commenced drooling over the food descriptions. This would not be a pasta, risotto, veal or 'Gordon Bleu' night. I ordered.
'Pizza Bagus........'
'Can I please order a pizza'
'Yes..... (silence).........'
Deciding the usual 'what you want' was not to be forth coming I launched into 'a salami and peperoni with double topping'
'You want salami and peperoni pizza?'
'Ya, and do you have cabe (chilli)'
'Wait one moment.........(long silence)............so you want Salami and Peperoni pizza with extra green capsicum?'
'And extra salami and peperoni,............. and pedas (spicy, as in chilli)'
'You want salami and peperoni pizza with extra green capsicum and salami?'
'And with extra peperoni, and cabe, pedas'
'OK, no problem. Where you stay'
'Gerebig Bungalows'
'Oh! In Penestanan?'
'Ya, ok, no problem. You number?'
'<room number given>'
Silence.........
'You pone number!'
'Don't know it" Not in habit of ringing my Indo number often!
'You name?'
'David'
'Ah, Dabid!'
'Ya'
'Your pone number?'
'I ring you back'
'OK.......clunk'
Number extracted from phone, redial hit and......
'Hello'
'I order pizza already and I have phone number'
'OK Dabid, what is it'

30 minutes later (Bali rubber time) pizza arrive. Price delivered was 45,500rp. Driver given 50,000rp (no time to think about change or tips, HUNGRY!).

On verandah balcony with a cold large Bintang and guess what............... could rate as the best pizza I have ever had the pleasure to experience.

The ham was thinly sliced like prosciutto, the green capsicum slightly pedas (could be colour association doing that, cabe is green), the salami wonderful and the peperoni exactly what the doctor ordered! The base was just right, light, not too thick, and the sauce tasty. Not too much cheese. I don't know what amount of what topping I had on that pizza but it worked!

I haven't really stopped thinking about it yet, hence this report!

A side thought. As Pacific Blue allow passengers to take their own food on board would I be able to convince the cabin staff to reheat one for me during tomorrow night's flight, sounds like breakfast to me?

Second side thought, where to eat tonight, 2nd last evening meal in Ubud?

Regards,
David
