I can only help you with the Low cost terminal which is wgere Air Asia come into.
Arriving is reasonably smooth, usually an extended wait for your baggage, both times for us it was maybe 30mins. Leaving to go to Bali is a little more confusing in as much it is very busy with planes taking off to all parts of Asia frequently, my tip for that would be allow heaps of time and read the boards with the check in gates properly, each destination has a desk number for you to check in at, this is on the board unless they have changed the system they had last year, in the end what looks like chaos is really organised chaos which for us worked really well, once in the departure lounge there are heaps of seats and places to buy snacks and duty free etc.
On arrival from Australia we had no trouble finding a Money changer if I remember correctly it was as you walk out from customs, certainly before you get to the counters that sell the transfers into KL City. My choice for transfers would be the AirAsia bus direct to Sentral station and then a Taxi to your hotel. All taxis are supposed to use their meters. Hope this helps......
