but in saying that I sure hope the postal service from Bali is better than it was 10 > 15 years ago.I will never forget back when our kids were little & we took them out of school for the family holiday to Bali. They had promised almost every kid at school,Scouts,Guides & Baseball that they were friends with that they would get postcards & we naturally sent the obligatory ones to parents etc.
Out of about 20 postcards that were sent between the 4 of us over about 2 > 3 weeks ,the only single one that turned up was the one that was addressed to their clasroom teacher. And that arrived 3 weeks after we got home & they had already done their classroom presentation. The hotel we stayed at had a postal service so every stamp we purchased was at our hotel & the staff said they would put them on for us & post them & WE believed them ! Every postcard was supposed to go via the office at the Patra Jasa as it used to be called.I presume that one of the staff members was a philatelist <LOL>
After all these years the postcards still have not arrived.Gee I sure will be amazed if they turn up one day ! These days with cheap phone calls via local sim cards, sms as well as email, facebook,MSN Messenger,Web Cam's & the internet in general we don't bother sending postcards.
