woke up Tuesday, Good Lord!! Its only 7.30am! Seeing as I am the type of person who can sleep past lunchtime this is out of the ordinary for me. The boss cant bloody believe it either! Must be the time difference. It happened the whole time we were there. Very peculiar.......
Anyway, off to brekky, the restaurant setting is amazing. If you lean back and forwards, tilting your head left and right to see past the boys on the street waving all their newspapers at you, the ocean is right there. Last time we stayed at the PR I dont think the restaurant was at the back overlooking the beach.
We sat just looking for a while then ordered brekky. There is a menu you get every morning rather than a buffet brekky. This includes every type of egg (which i tried them all)
eggs are cooked fresh and served with salad garnish and potato gems and bacon/sausage/ham (all cold) and toast is hit and miss (hot or cold) Pancakes are cooked fresh and served with icecream if you want it yummmmmmmm.
they also do fresh nasi goreng or mie goreng which the boss had several times. this was good also.
you can either pick the full brekky which is fruit or fruit juice, cooked brekky, coffee etc or you can pick anything to the value of 45,000. You would be hard pressed to go over the 45,000
Every morning i would order one egg (and get 2) with toast,or a pancake, each time i didnt finish it all. Our waiter (Gede) would come up to me and say "what happened?" and laugh, because i didnt eat it all. This happened every day and he is now known to us as our little mate "what happened"
Brekky was more than good enough for me.
for those who havent been to the PR it is a long narrow hotel running between the street and the beach up at Legian. It is a 2 storey hotel with 4 blocks (2 down each side) meticulous gardens and a lovely balcony area to sit outside. We were lucky that we got a room next to the stairwell and we didnt back onto neighbours (or they were lucky!) who would have to try and sleep through the boss's chainsaw impersonations, He snores like a pig. The only thing I could do to try to sleep through it was put in earplugs and drink copious amounts of wine and Johnny Black. It worked most nights though.......
The PR has 2 pools one at the front and one at the back near the beach. The one at the front was pretty deserted most of the time but the other one was very popular.
We noticed most days there were about 12 sunlounges taken without anybody using them on any given day. The rule was you could save them for up to 2 hours and then they were up for grabs.
there was one lady we saw who came back one afternoon after shopping (we had been at the pool for about 3 hours - no sign of her) and put her clothes on her lounge and sat on it for about 5 minutes. This lounge was in a group of 4 in the shady spot near the restaurant
Then about an hour later her friends arrived and they spent the whole time at the swim up bar! So they had hogged 4 lounges for hours and not even used them. Then I couldnt believe my eyes, when the first lady must have gotten cold and went over to the group of lounges in the sun and laid on one of those!!!! she had taken one in the sun and one in the shade!!!!! as well as the other three for her friends.
We noticed other days she had 2 lounges in the sun and 2 in the shade (she needed one for herself and one for her clothes/book/stuff). Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!! (sorry it really got up my nose...)
Most days you could get a lounge no problems at all.
Anyway enough of my moaning about that!
The hotel was fabulous, we met lots of nice people of all ages. There were some children there but not many. One older lady did tell me she didnt think it was a place for children and wasnt very happy that there were kids there. I thought the pool area would be too small to have lots of kids there.
All we could think of was how if we took our 2 little angels there that it would ruin everybody elses holiday LOL as they are so loud and boisterous.
Anyway if anybody has any questions feel free to ask :)
more later
